Life is short.....BUY THE SHOES!
Welcome to my first blog! For those of you who already follow me on Facebook Im sure by now you are well aware that I am obsessed with all things fashion and beauty - and sometimes there just isnt enough room to express it on Facebook!
I live by the motto "Life is short!" - especially when it comes to clothes and shoes!
You'll either understand it completely, or not at all....but theres a princess shopaholic in every single girl and woman...even if you dont know it ;-)
Dress up begins at age 5 and never truly ends.....I remember my mum dressing me up like a porcelain dolly complete with little fairy bells sewn into the lining of my little dresses.....and there began the story!
Those of you who understand, know that feeling very well - the "I HAVE to have it" , "MUST have" feeling...and then theres the excuses and justifications - "I would wear this with EVERYTHING, it would be an invesment!" , "It would make my legs look longer, my waist look smaller, my body look thinner, my eyes look bigger, my lips look fuller....." , this dress will COMPLETE me :-) The cost is irrelevant, because its INVESTMENT shopping ! If you are anything like me, you'll also know the feeling of your credit card company once labeling you as a "valued customer", yet now sending you hate mail!
The following thoughts I wrote on an encounter with a Ted Baker blazer will give you a better idea of just how bad I have it :
"I have a love/hate relationship with Ted Baker and his designs. Oh how you catch my eye, tempting me with those colours and sleek cuts...I dont NEED another blazer, its coming into winter (not that we ever had a summer) and you're simply not going to get worn enough...but I have to try you. Damn you. You fall perfectly in line with every curve and I melt into you. You come with an optimistic price tag and my head knows you're not a priority right now, but my heart...oh my heart. You're gone back on the rail and I sigh as I look back at you, what we had was so brief but the feeling will linger with me....I WILL be back for you....."
So if you're the type of girl that gets a rush from a new outfit, that feeling of "I can take on the world" in these new shoes, you'll also know that feeling comes with a few obstacles...I like to call them "The caged princesses"....the women who claim they wouldnt find any pleasure in wearing nice fabrics and shoes.....they'll hate you, they'll rate you and they'll do anything to try to take that feeling away from you! Deep down though, theres a princess shopaholic in all of them, just screaming to get out! The way to handle this? Well, the next time you're wearing THAT outfit, the one that hugs every curve , and THOSE shoes and quite simply you feel like youve never looked better in your life....remember that looks are only part of the package. Remember to be nice to people, and always SMILE. People can hate looks but its very hard to hate a friendly smile!
Always remember - A HAPPY GIRL IS A PRETTY GIRL :-)
