Dare to bare?? Get the look!

If any of you were taking note looking at New York Fashion Week - one trend that they seem a lot more comfortable with in the US is the pared back makeup look. This was seen in particular at the Tommy Hilfiger show. So how many of us can say we enjoy being without makeup? Theres lots of amasing products available now that claim to make our skin so perfect that we no longer have the need to wear any makeup. I totally believe that a lot of these products are indeed fantastic and as we get older we realise that the key to looking great is more about a good skincare routine rather than which foundation you use. If the skincare isn't good no matter what foundation you use you wont get that radiant look!

So if we have the skincare routine sorted, are we really happy and confident enough to go totally barefaced? Not many of us can answer yes to that, but there comes certain occasions where a full face of makeup simply isn't appropriate (the beach, walking the dogs, the gym...the list goes on)....in fact a few months ago a friend and I went back to horse riding after many years and we both showed up with full makeup on....I imagine we seemed a bit like Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton in an episode of "The Simple Life" !!! :-) Since then, Ive picked up a few tricks and would like to share them with you along with a list of products I used to cheat and get the "no makeup" look while still feeling confident that I can go out in our Irish weather and not have a Rudolf nose within 5 minutes!! :-)

Firstly, I started with a moisturised face. At the moment Im loving YSL Forever Youth Liberator Creme and eye cream.
Next, I used Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in Medium and blended it with my fingers all over my face. I find with BB creams using the fingers to blend gives a more natural finish than using a foundation brush.
Next I used a little YSL Touch Eclat no 2 under the eyes. Then I set the BB cream by dusting on a light layer of MAC mineralize loose powder (medium plus) using the MAC powder brush 187. This brush has a really light feather texture so its perfect for giving you a light dusting of powder.

I then used Coralista blush by Benefit, gently swept over the cheeks. Its a very subtle pink glow.

To finish up, I just used Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes on my lashes - Doll Eyes really seperates the lashes. I didnt use anything else on the eyes, no liner, no shadow - remember we are going for that no makeup look! I gave my brows a brush into shape (I find a fresh mascara wand is best for this) but didnt use any shadows or pencils as it would look too harsh without eye shadow.
Add a slick of Clarins Instant Light lip perfector No 1 gloss and done!
