“Our bride is confident, sometimes quietly confident, but always breathtaking” – Inbal Dror

This week was an exciting and eventful week for me….I said Yes to the dress!!

I didn’t think I’d make a decision so soon, when our wedding isn’t until next year and I had only just begun my search, but its true what they say…”When you know, you just know”!

Having been a bridal model on many occasions , I already had a fair idea of what styles I liked, and particularly the designers I liked. I’ve known for years that I really wanted something a bit different, not the traditional style. My favourite wedding dress designers are Berta, Galia Lahav and of course Inbal Dror. Funnily enough, all these designers have one thing in common – stunning haute couture, and all Israeli.

Obviously I don’t want to reveal too much about my chosen dress until the big day, but what I will reveal is that I believe I have chosen my absolute dream dress, from Inbal Dror!

The collection is for romantics, with an inate sense of style who really want to wow on their Big Day and feel like a true princess.

French lace, Tulles, Pearls and Swarovsky stones bring glamour and decadence to each piece and the soft palette of vanilla, ivory champagne and blush hues serve as a canvas for exquisite detailing.

I had a particular Inbal Dror gown in mind, it was what I envisioned myself wearing and I couldn’t wait to try it. When I had it on however, although I could see it was indeed beautiful, I just didn’t have that “feeling”! I had decided before the fitting that I would be open minded and try on lots of different styles, and so even though some didn’t appeal to me on the hangers, I decided to try them anyway. This is when the magic happened! One gown that I was even reluctant to try, turned out to be “The One”! I felt so good in it that I didn’t want to take it off! I didn’t decide on the day however, because you’ll find the decision can be an overwhelming and emotional one, so I took the weekend to sleep on it. I couldn’t get it out of my head, and so I knew this was really it!

I made my final decision on Sunday…and you can imagine my reaction when I heard that Beyonce arrived at the Grammy awards wearing an Inbal Dror wedding gown!!  - She has good taste! ;-)I have to admit that that particular gown wouldn’t appeal to my style, but Beyonce can get away with just about anything !

So there you have it, I feel so lucky to know I’ll have my dream dress, it makes the rest of the
planning even more exciting!

Ive put together some tips that worked for me in the search for my dress which may be of use!:

Tips for brides to be searching for their dream dress:

1. Go in with an open mind – know what styles you think you like/dislike – but try ones that you think might not suit you, because you just never know!

2. Make some effort with your hair/makeup – You shouldn’t wear too much makeup as you
don’t want to get it on the dresses and also want to look bridal (not sat night glam!!) but its
important to have done whatever it takes to make you feel good – mascara etc. Bring something to pin your hair up so you can see what the dress would look like with different hairstyles – theres nothing worse than trying to get in and out of dresses with your long hair going everywhere!

3. Wear the right underwear – wear a nice supportive strapless nude bra and nude knickers.

4. Bring a pair of heels youre comfortable with – the usual height you like to wear. Bridal
boutiques do provide shoes to try on but theyre not often the height you like and so its
difficult to get an idea.

5. Made to order gowns can take 6-8 months, so start shopping early.

6. Visit Trunk Shows – if you have a favourite designer, check their websites for notifications of upcoming trunk shows near to you. Designers usually have trunk shows 1-2 times yearly – on the day you can view and try their new collections, sometimes meet with the designer themselves and they often offer incentives if you order on the day, up to 20% off.

7. Don’t bring too many people with you – this can cloud your judgement and sway your
decisions. Bring one or two people whose opinions you value. Lastly, don’t be afraid to go it
alone. If you know yourself well and trust your own opinion then go it alone if you wish. I did my first trial alone, as I wanted to decide independently what I liked, and once I had it
narrowed I asked someone along for a 2nd opinion.

8. Remember not to stress! Once the big day comes, you WILL feel beautiful, and your groom will think you are the most beautiful woman in the world, no matter what gown you’ve chosen !!
